Bicycle Valet Kingston - a social enterprise of Cycle Kingston
Bicycle Valet Kingston (BVK) is a not-for-profit service that hires, on a temporary bases, individuals who are in need of employment to help provide a safe and secure bike parking service for festivals and other events. BVK encourages patrons of events to use active transportation; thereby helping to reduce the need for automobile parking and congestion, AND reducing the amount of greenhouse gases put into our environment! Events that use BVK service shows the community that they want to encourage green choices.
Our team of paid staff and volunteers sets up the parking, and supervises the bicycles parked during the open hours of your event. We greet guests and check-in their bicycles, just like you would check a coat. The guest receives a "claim stub" that's used to pick up their bicycle when they are leaving the event. With BVK, cyclists are free to enjoy the event knowing that their bicycle is parked in a secure area, supervised by our staff. AND, this is a free service to the rider!
Bicycle Valet Kingston's team of dedicated volunteers and staff can customize the service to best fit the event organizer's needs. We supply the bike racks, signage at the site, and other equipment needed for the parking. Kingston locals will recognize our logo; they have repeatedly communicated that they are happy to see our friendly faces securely park their bicycles again and again.
If you have an event, we'd like to be there! Rates are based on the length of time of the event, number of days, number of predicted bicycles, and whether your organization is a non-profit or for-profit business. We are happy to talk with you and provide a cost quote.
