Cycling  Week in Kingston 2022

May 29 to June 4

Welcome to Cycling Week in Kingston 2022

We’re back in the saddle, again!!

After a 2-year break from in-person activities and celebrations for Cycling Week due to COVID-19, we are back in the saddle! Roll-in-breakfasts, live World Bicycle Day celebration, ride with the mayor, and other in-person activities will once again be happening!

Cycling Week in Kingston is designed to be a community participation event; meaning, we want to include anyone and any organization or business who is willing to help celebrate bicycles and cycling for any and all reasons! Bicycles have been an important part of society for more than 200 years. People cycle for transportation, recreation, personal health and fitness, environmental reasons, economic reasons, and combinations of these and many other reasons. Recently, there has been an increase interest in cycling. We hope that is the case for you, too!

Not only is there a City proclamation that proclaims May 29 through June 4, 2022, as Cycling Week in Kingston, one special day within this week is celebrated globally. June 3rd is the 5th World Bicycle Day, declared in 2018 by the United Nations. World Bicycle Day recognizes the importance of bicycles as vehicles that make a positive difference for humanity.

Check out the activities and events for Cycling Week in Kingston 2022 below - AND follow up on Twitter and Instagram, @cyclekingston, OR come back to this webpage for added events and activities to celebrate Cycling Week! If you would like to have an event or activity listed for this year, please send an email to events.cyclekingston@gmail.com.

Cheers to bicycles!
