SUPERVISION & INSTRUCTION
Youth are supervised by Cycle Kingston’s two Cycling Ambassadors: post-secondary students who have camp counsellor and supervision experience and have received full CAN-BIKE II equivalent training as well as First Aid. All staff have passed a police security check (CPIC) including vulnerable sector screening.
SAFETY & SECURITY
The top priority embedded in our camp is SAFETY. All cycling skills are taught in accordance with nationally recognized curriculum, delivered by trained and experience counsellors and instructors. All cyclists are required to wear certified bicycle helmets, worn properly and in good condition, and operating mechanically sound and appropriately sized bicycles.
All staff working at the camp have been carefully screened by Cycle Kingston’s board of directors, and all have passed a police security check (CPIC) with vulnerable sector screening. Cycling Ambassadors and several volunteers will have completed the 18-hour CAN-BIKE II, or equivalent, cycling training certification.
Cycle Kingston is an incorporated non-profit and registered Canadian charity in good standing, and is fully insured with $5 million liability insurance.
